/gcloud-kit:sdd-lot2a

Generate a Service Definition Document for G-Cloud 15 Lot 2a — Infrastructure Software as a Service (iSaaS).

Overview

Lot 2a is cloud-based systems infrastructure software: security, identity and access, IT operations and service management, endpoint management, operating systems and virtualisation, network and storage software, cloud financial management, and integration or application platforms. The command answers every Lot 2a service question in GCA's G-Cloud 15 (RM1557.15) export, in its order: about the service, its categories and multi cloud support, features and benefits, scope (including whether it is an add-on), supplier type, user support, how users work with the service, onboarding, data import and export, analytics, scaling, public sector networks, the NCSC cloud security principles (including the Software Security Code of Practice and post-quantum cryptography), pricing questions and documents.

Usage

/gcloud-kit:sdd-lot2a Endpoint Security Manager

Arguments: Service name or number (must match an existing service directory).

Prerequisites

  • Supplier profile (services/supplier/supplier-profile.md)
  • Service design for a Lot 2a service (services/{number}-{name}/service-design.md), from /gcloud-kit:service-design

Output

services/{number}-{name}/sdd.md

Template used: .gcloud/templates/sdd-lot2-template.md if you've customised it with /gcloud-kit:customize, otherwise the plugin's templates/sdd-lot2-template.md (shared with Lot 2b)

What it does

  1. Verifies the supplier profile and service design exist, and that the design is for Lot 2a; a design from the previous framework's "Lot 2" prompts a choice between 2a and 2b
  2. Reads the existing sdd.md on a re-run (confirmed answers are kept, the version is bumped and a revision-history row added); an SDD from the previous framework has its answers carried into the G-Cloud 15 structure, but never its categories
  3. Reads the Lot 2a service questions and the Lot 2a category tree (roots Systems Infrastructure Software and Application Development and Deployment)
  4. Researches open answers on the supplier's website and comparable G-Cloud 15 listings (search slug isaas)
  5. Answers every question, follow-ups only when triggered, and writes anything unconfirmed as [PENDING]
  6. Checks the four answers that are scored again as mandatory award criteria (user support, data location, penetration testing frequency, data sanitisation) against services/supplier/lot-questions-2.md, if it exists
  7. Validates limits and consistency, then summarises answered, not applicable and pending questions with counts against each limit

Limits

  • Service name: ≤100 characters, the name only
  • Description: ≤500 characters
  • Features, benefits and system requirements: ≤10 each, ≤10 words each
  • Uploaded service definition document: ODF or PDF/A, ≤5 MB, accessible, no prices

Not in the SDD

  • Prices: unit prices and the discount for each annual call-off value band are set with /gcloud-kit:pricing; price is 80% of the Lot 2a score
  • Lot questions: the mandatory award criteria and certifications are answered once per bid with /gcloud-kit:lot-questions
