/gcloud-kit:sdd-lot1a

Generate a Service Definition Document for G-Cloud 15 Lot 1a — Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS).

Overview

Answers every Lot 1a service question in GCA's official G-Cloud 15 (RM1557.15) question export, in the export's order: about the service and its categories, features and benefits, scope, supplier type, user support, interfaces, onboarding, backups and recovery, analytics, scaling, the NCSC cloud security principles (data in transit, asset protection, separation, governance, operational and staff security, secure development, identity, audit), energy efficiency, pricing questions and documents. Options are ticked using GCA's exact wording, which is what buyers filter on.

Usage

/gcloud-kit:sdd-lot1a My Compute Platform

Arguments: Service name or number (must match an existing service directory).

Prerequisites

  • Supplier profile (services/supplier/supplier-profile.md)
  • Service design for a Lot 1a service (services/{number}-{name}/service-design.md), from /gcloud-kit:service-design

Output

services/{number}-{name}/sdd.md

Template used: .gcloud/templates/sdd-lot1-template.md if you've customised it with /gcloud-kit:customize, otherwise the plugin's templates/sdd-lot1-template.md (shared with Lot 1b)

What it does

  1. Verifies the supplier profile and service design exist, and that the design is for Lot 1a (a service designed for another lot is pointed to its own command)
  2. Reads the existing sdd.md on a re-run (confirmed answers are kept, the version is bumped and a revision-history row added); an SDD from the previous framework has its answers carried into the G-Cloud 15 structure
  3. Reads the Lot 1a service questions and the Lot 1a category tree (roots IaaS and PaaS) from the bundled references
  4. Researches open answers on the supplier's website and comparable G-Cloud 15 listings (search slug iaas-and-paas)
  5. Answers every question, follow-ups only when triggered, and writes anything unconfirmed as [PENDING]
  6. Checks the supplier type against the reseller or sole control answer in services/supplier/lot-questions-1.md, if it exists
  7. Validates limits and consistency, then summarises answered, not applicable and pending questions with counts against each limit

Limits

  • Service name: ≤100 characters, the name only
  • Description: ≤500 characters
  • Features, benefits, system requirements and backed-up items: ≤10 each, ≤10 words each
  • Uploaded service definition document: ODF or PDF/A, ≤5 MB, accessible, no prices

Not in the SDD

  • Prices: the Lot 1a price formula (baseline price, fixed onboarding costs, framework discount, supplier-specific schemes, time-limited discounts) is set with /gcloud-kit:pricing
  • Lot questions: reseller or sole control, the scored Quality Cloud Services and Maximising Buyer Value answers and certifications (including ISO 27018, required for a service that includes public cloud unless you resell and rely on the provider's accreditations) are answered once per bid with /gcloud-kit:lot-questions
